Davies Development Center in Katy, TX

Early Language-Focused Education for Young Children

As part of the Davies Institute for Speech & Hearing, the Davies Development Center was created to address a common gap families face: coordinating early education and therapy during early childhood. Our program brings these supports together under one roof and allows children to learn, grow, and receive therapy in a supportive setting.

What Makes Our Program Different

The Davies Development Center is an early education program designed to support young children during the most important years of language and developmental growth. We serve children from 12 months through five years of age, and we provide a structured, language-rich environment that helps them build communication, social, and learning skills before they enter preschool or kindergarten.

The main benefit of this program is that therapy services can be provided during the school day, which reduces the need for families to juggle multiple appointments outside of school hours. Once enrolled, children receive comprehensive evaluations from our clinical team to better understand their strengths, needs, and developmental goals.

Who the Davies Development Center Serves

The Davies Development Center is open to the community. We primarily serve children with hearing loss; but we also accept hearing children with speech or language delays or other early intervention needs.

By intentionally creating classrooms that include both children with hearing loss and hearing peers, we promote natural language exposure, peer modeling, and real-world communication opportunities. This approach helps children develop language skills in a way that feels authentic and prepares them for future classroom environments.

The best place to start is by scheduling a free school tour. This gives families an opportunity to see the classrooms, meet the team, and ask questions before moving forward with enrollment.

Yes! Our center operates as a nonprofit and offers a limited scholarship program. Families may apply, and awards typically provide partial tuition assistance to those who qualify.

Yes! After the school tour, we encourage families to schedule a classroom visit where your child can join us for about two hours. This allows your child to experience the classroom, and it lets our team observe how they engage with others to determine their best placement and next steps.

Schedule a School Tour

Choosing the right early education program for your child is a big decision, and seeing it in person makes all the difference.
