Jalyn is a bilingual (English Spanish) licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) with experience providing services in home health, private practice, community centers, and public schools. She has worked with monolingual and bilingual children and adults with a variety of communication needs, including those with diagnoses such as autism, developmental delays/disabilities, and ADHD.
Jalyn believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to communicate and express themselves in a way that is authentic and meaningful to them. She embraces all forms of communication, including voice, American Sign Language (ASL), body language, writing, and speech-generating devices. Her approach is centered around supporting each individual’s unique communication style while helping them participate more fully in the world around them.
Jalyn earned her Master of Arts in Linguistics, along with a graduate certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), from the University of North Texas. She also earned her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Houston. During her education, she had the opportunity to provide speech-language services in Belize and the Dominican Republic, experiences that strengthened her passion for culturally responsive and accessible communication support.
Jalyn currently lives in Houston with her German-Shepherd-Lab mix, Lizze. Outside of work, Jalyn enjoys reading, watching, and, more recently, roller skating.
