DISH School is designed specifically for children with hearing loss and language delays and is focused on appropriate instruction with spoken language at its core. Since language is crucial to the development of children from birth to 5 years old, early intervention strategies are key. Our teachers are well diverse in spoken language therapies, tactile and kinesthetic centers, and milestone development in children with communication difficulties.

Our teachers work directly with our pediatric speech therapists, occupational therapist, and audiologist in helping to determine proper treatment for each child. Our Educational Diagnostician works with each child to determine specific education needs, and helps our teachers implement strategies for support in the classroom and at home. Our team also works directly with families to teach appropriate communication skills at home, advocacy development in parents, and offer educational counseling once the child is ready for a school age program. 

Our school utilizes this collaborative approach because learning happens best through repetition across multiple settings. With this team of our teachers, SLPs, OTs, audiologists, diagnosticians and families working together, we believe every child is capable of reaching age-appropriate skill levels as they enter into their school-age programs.
